Interstates provides opportunity for students to receive full-time offers of employment upon completion of the internship, to apply after program completion depending on individual performance.ResponsibilitiesMeasure, cut and bend wire and conduit using tape measure and hand toolsOperate power tools such as drills, saws, pullers, tuggers, etc.Install conductors in race way and cable tray using manual and power equipmentAssist in lifting, positioning, and fastening objects, such as wiring, conduit and motorsPerform minor repairs, such as replace fuses, light sockets, bulbs and switches, tools and equipmentDisassemble defective electrical equipment, such as motors, using hand tools Load, transport, unload and furnish Journeyman and Foreman Electricians with materials, equipment, tools and suppliesUse ladders, scaffolding, scissor and boom lifts,Perform housekeeping duties, as requiredWork SAFELY and follow all safety guidelines per Interstates and OSHA standardsOther duties as assigned by field leadersQualificationsCandidates must be actively pursuing a degree in electrical/electrical technology or similar to be considered.Location and TravelThe national traveling internship will take place over the duration of summer 2020. Candidates must be willing to travel within the United States without requirement for a specific location and must have reliable transportation. Mileage between job sites will be reimbursed and per diem pay will apply.
