Trinity Health BSN Summer Internship in Mason City, Iowa


To provide assistance in the delivery of nursing care to patients and an opportunity to relate nursing theory to practice, gain experience with technical skills, gain increased organizational and time management skills, and to utilize the nursing process to plan care and problem solve for patients.


A. Education:

  1. Must be currently enrolled in a BSN nursing program

B. Experience

  1. Successfully completed the 3rd year of BSN program

  2. GPA 2.75 on a 4.0 Scale

C. Special Skills, Competencies, and Aptitudes

  • Maintain current BCLS certification
  • Must have Mandatory Reporting Certificate

Job Summary: This position accepts the responsibility and accountability for the delivery of patient care during the patient's stay, through the use of the nursing process. Directs patient/family education and delegates to ancillary personnel while maintaining professional nursing standards.

*Qualifications: *Graduate of a program in professional nursing. Current RN licensure in the state of Iowa. Previous experience in acute care preferred. Must provide proof of Basic Life Support (BLS Healthcare Provider, American Heart Association; or American Red Cross, Professional Rescuer-LIVE class only) via current card prior to employment or within 60 days of hire and maintains current status. Completes Mandatory Reporting requirement within 6 months of hire and renews this requirement every 5 years. Demonstrates a high degree of patience and flexibility. Ability to work flexible hours.
