Corteva Agriscience Seed Quality Testing Internship in Johnston, Iowa

Corteva Agriscience has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated student to take on the role of the Seed Quality Testing Intern within our professional internship program. The position duration is May to August 2020 and is located in Johnston, Iowa. Part of the Professional Internship Program is completing an assigned project and presenting the results to a group of business leaders in Johnston, Iowa. Professional development opportunities include exposure to other parts of the seed production business as well as the company as a whole.


The Seed Quality Testing Intern is designed to provide college Juniors and Seniors with the necessary knowledge, experience and skills to prepare for potential career with Corteva Agriscience. This position will support safe, effective and efficient management of seed production processes.

Work assignments may include:

  • Business improvement and productivityinitiatives

  • Participating in labor planning needs

  • Managing equipment maintenance, repair, andasset utilization

  • Assisting in capital investment projects

  • Leading safety assignments



This role is designed for college students in a post-secondary degree program, preferably with an agricultural background in Seed Science/Seed Physiology at a Junior level. Other degrees that will be considered: industrial sciences, occupational safety and health, supply chain management or related field with a broad interest in the agriculture industry.

  • Knowledge of crop production and general agronomy

  • Strong interest in production agriculture and seedscience/technology

  • Excellent communication and writing skills

  • Must possess strong safety habits

  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment

  • Strong organizational skills, detail oriented,flexible, highly dependable, with the ability to prioritize and handlemultiple tasks in a fast paced, deadline driven environment

  • Ability to work in laboratory environment havinglimited exposure to chemicals, dust, noise, and temperature variation.
