Grow what's next. Grow your future. Corteva Agriscience, has an exciting opportunity for a 3-month internship in the field of Plant Genome Editing. This position is in Johnston, Iowa, in the Molecular Engineering group of Applied Science and Technology and will be open from May to August of 2020.

The Molecular Engineering group is seeking a highly motivated individual to contribute to the improvement of the CRISPR/Cas-based genome editing tools, including but not limited to (1) expansion of CRISPR/Cas system; (2) protein engineering of Cas protein; and (3) developing new approaches that enhance genome editing efficiency. In this lab-based internship, the person will be exposed to a broad range of cutting-edge genome editing techniques, and will work closely with a senior scientist in an industrial setting.

This position offers an outstanding opportunity for an individual willing to learn genome editing technology in a world-class Ag biotech company.

Qualifications

Qualifications - WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • Minimum 2 years of college education in molecular biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, bioinformatics, plant cell biology or related field

  • Current cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above

  • Highly motivated, strong communication and presentation skills, strong organizational skills, ability to work both individually and in a team environment, and basic computer competency are required
