The instructor will work with the Iowa SHPEP program director to design and implement an appropriate course syllabus, evaluation plan, and lesson plans that allow the students to understand the fundamental concepts of the assigned subject area and be able to apply these concepts when presented with a "real world" health problem. We have a template from previous years we can work with to create this course.Each position will require a commitment to teaching, tutoring, class preparation, community engagement, and evaluation. Current scheduling places the classroom teaching at 1 hour morning sessions, 4 days per week (M/T/Th/F) for 5 weeks. There will be additional time outside of this hour for class prep, creating an ICON site, and other related administrative duties around the virtual implementation of this program.Stipend: $4500Requirements: Good communication skills, team player, patient, friendly and willing to go the extra mile when explaining challenging concepts. We are seeking instructors that have interest and passion for teaching. All candidates must appreciate diversity of values and cultures and have experience working with individuals from backgrounds that may be different from their own.
