ACT, Inc. Internship: Product Intern in Iowa City, Iowa

Internship: Product Line Management (March - August 31, 2019 / 20 hours per week / $16.00 per hour / local college student)

Position objective:

  • Analyze how our existing products are positioned in the market and crystallize targeted consumer.

  • Perform competitive analysis. Analyze strategy of competition, customer needs and desires, and key market trends.

  • Work in a cross functional environment, and manage new products through the product lifecycle and the entire product development process from the initial ideation through to final sales presentation materials.

  • Gather market requirements.

  • Write product requirements/specifications.

  • Communicate, and execute a complex strategic plan and timeline. Monitor and control all timelines to bring project in on-time and on-budget.

  • Use statistical methods to analyze data and generate useful business report

  • Work with Management team to create a prioritized list of needs for each business product

  • Identify and recommend new ways to save money by streamlining current business processes

  • Use data to create models that depict trends in the product base and the customer population as a whole


Minimum Qualifications:


  • Enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program, preferably with a business focus

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Possess exceptional written, verbal communication skills

  • Self-starter who can work independently

  • Possess creative problem solving

  • Microsoft suite of products

  • Tableau experience a plus
