Hourly Student InternshipOffice of Equity and Human RightsApplication deadline: Thursday, October 28, 2021Visit jobs to apply onlineVariable daytime hours up to 25 hours per weekWage: $15.00 per hourOffice Hours: Monday Friday, 8:00am 5:00pmTentative Job Duration: December 2021 through April 2022Job summary: Examples of duties: Under direct supervision, assists in creating materials to promote awareness of the Citys racial equity, social justice and fair housing choice initiatives. Assists in the creation of the monthly Racial Equity and Social Justice Newsletter through researching and writing stories, as well as incorporating visuals through photography and graphic design, creates content for the Office of Equity and Human Rights website page and posts for the Offices Instagram page, works with the Equity Director on a variety of racial equity and social justice-related projects.Additional duties include assisting in the outreach and educational efforts of the Office to promote knowledge of ones rights and creating documents and templates to assist in Office outreach in the areas included but not limited to employment, housing and public accommodations. Clerical duties as assigned. Conducts self in a manner which promotes and supports inclusivity in the workplace and community. Performs all other related duties as assigned.Minimum qualifications: Candidates considered must be attending an educational institution accredited by DOE recognized accreditation body. Candidates considered will preferably have coursework or experience in photography, social media and one of the following areas: journalism, communications, graphic design, racial equity and social justice, marketing or a related field. Skills in data entry and Microsoft Office programs including Excel, PowerPoint and Word required. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
