Kemin Industries Summer Field Technician in Des Moines, Iowa
Overview
The Summer Field Technician will perform all field activities related to the growing and evaluating breeding lines under field growing conditions. T his position is considered temporary- full time employment and will work over the summer months only (apx May-Aug) for summer field trials.
This position may also perform work at other field research stations
as well as Kemin’s main campus in Des Moines, IA.

Responsibilities
Execute field tasks in hemp nursery plots, including weeding/mowing, plant tagging.
Perform various tasks in the field including bagging, pollination, sample collection, and data collection under direction of the breeder.
Assist with field activities in other crops as needed, including transplanting, taking/transporting of vegetative cuttings, sample collection, and weeding.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or enrolled in Bachelor’s degree
Relevant coursework in Biology, Horticulture, Agronomy or Soil Science.
Working knowledge and familiarity with field growing conditions.
High energy level, strong self-motivation, and a high degree of problem-solving skills.
Experience with data collection and processing of samples for lab analysis.
Excellent communication skills.
Proficient in English, multilingual is a plus.
A post-offer background check and drug screen is required. Additional pre-employment requirements may be necessary based on position.
