DES MOINES WATER WORKS Summer Engineering Help in DES MOINES, Iowa

Under the general supervision of the Engineering Tech Support Supervisor, performs field and officeduties pertaining to the distribution system and other technical duties.EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Assists with research on engineering-related studies.Provides corrosion protection program field measurements, related reports, and assists with design offuture installations.Assists in verifying materials are in compliance to Des Moines Water Works standards.Prepares written documentation of construction activities for record and contract administrativepurposes.Gather, input, and manipulate data in Excel.Assists with the review of construction plans to verify the comply with Des Moines Water Works'requirementsAssists in verifying construction is in accordance with plans and specifications.Assists with field survey work and flow tests.Performs other duties of similar nature.QUALIFICATIONS:Education: Completion of freshman level civil or construction engineering course work.Licenses/Certifications: Must possess a valid Iowa driver's license with good driving record.SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION:Frequently performs tasks requiring periods of stooping, standing, bending, twisting, and reachingoverhead.Walks for extended periods over uneven terrain.Occasionally handles up to 50 pounds.Des Moines Water Works is an Equal Opportunity EmployerE-Verify Process: Des Moines Water Works participates in E-Verify and will provide the Social SecurityAdministration (SSA) and, if necessary, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS),with informationfrom each applicant's Form I-9 to confirm work authorization.
