YRC Freight Organizational Development Internship Summer 2023 in Des Moines, Iowa

JOB SUMMARY

Perform operational and administrative functions and gain professional experience and exposure in the field of study. The Organization Development Intern is a member of a high-performing Organizational Development team. The mission of the OD team is to build effective and efficient HR solutions that drive organizational development and effectiveness through structure, process, strategy and the selection, development, engagement and retention of top talent. The internship will be 40 hours per week for 3-4 months.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Under direct supervision of a mentor, learn and develop skills in field of study

  2. Gain exposure to the business environment

  3. Perform basic tasks and administrative duties, support OD initiatives as required

  4. Analyze data and create reports to help inform and drive the business

  5. Participate on group projects

  6. Assist with training and implementation of OD interventions

  7. Conduct literature reviews and research to support OD projects

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  1. In progress to a degree in Business, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Human Resource Management, or other related degree preferred

  2. Proven track record in effectively working with others to achieve results

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. In progress to an advanced degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology is preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The position requires the ability to spend long hours sitting or standing while using office equipment and computers. Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as typing and keying. Occasional lifting, pushing/pulling, carrying of 10 lbs. of supplies and materials is required.
