MidAmerican Energy Company Intern - Robotic Process Automation in Des Moines, Iowa

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Job Function) The Intern - Robotic Process Automation (RPA) supports and administers the day-to-day running of Robotic Process Automations as part of the ERP applications team at MidAmerican Energy. Interns will have the opportunity to apply knowledge and skills learned in college and demonstrate abilities in the workplace. The position is temporary, nonexempt, and full-time/hourly through the summer. Applicants should have a graduation date later than August 2023. This position will execute RPA initiatives by analyzing and designing process workflows and by building, testing, and implementing RPA solutions. This position will also provide operational, database and web development services to the platforms under the Berkshire Hathaway Energy umbrella and will assist business analysts and the business optimization team in putting together business cases and workflow improvement efforts to support further adoption of RPA solutions by the business. Typical Duties Supports the creation, development and implementation of RPA solutions for BHE and its affiliates through collaboration with business analysts and project teams. Updates and maintains solution documentation, analyzing and designing process workflows, ensuring quality of the system. Implement the full life-cycle of RPA solutions: identify RPA opportunities; gather requirements; design, document; and implement, test and deploy targeted RPA solutions utilizing best practices. Assist in the coordination of activities with the business optimization team to create and deploy RPA solutions. Create and share easy-to-read reports on RPA performance. Identifies and communicates risks associated with process automation candidates. Supports business process owners during user acceptance testing. Serve as subject matter expert to others seeking to utilize RPA technologies to automate and streamline existing manual business processes. Must be a college student, sophomore or higher standing, currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in computer science, management information systems, or related technical field. Must be available to work May-August 2023. Experience in business software application development, and programming and/or coding. Understanding of middleware applications and Windows OS. Experience developing simple to complex application programing interfaces, and hands on experience developing automation tools. Preferred programming languages: C#, VS C/C , HTML5, CSS, PHP, SQL, JavaScript, Java, VBA/VBS, XML/REST Awareness of standard SDLC processes (e.g., agile, waterfall, etc.) and change control disciplines Demonstrated ability to learn quickly in scenarios that are not well defined or structured Excellent interpersonal communications skills, strong written and verbal communication skills Project management skills; ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
