Principal Fixed Income Extended Internship (January-July 2022) in Des Moines, Iowa
Principal Global Investors will have two internships in our Fixed Income Department. During your internship, you will work closely with members of our Credit Research Teams. You will be responsible for preparing Commercial Paper Reviews, assist with financial models and ensuring the data integrity of our investment holdings. As your familiarity with investments increases, you will be given opportunities to assist with sector coverage, monthly presentations, and improving our current processes.
Other functions you may assist with are:
Manage and assist the analysts in preparing Private Placement Screening Memos
Assisting the traders on an ad hoc basis
Running specific daily, weekly, and quarterly reporting requirements for traders and analysts
Improving, streamlining, and documenting existing processes
Assisting with sector coverage
Direct interaction with company roadshows and/or Bloomberg representative
You must be available to work full time (40 hours per week) from January - July 2022.
We’re looking for someone with:
Working towards or obtain a bachelor’s or graduate level degree in finance, economics, engineering, business analytics or a related major.
Completion of intermediate level coursework in finance is preferred.
Strong communication skills and the ability to interact professionally are essential in this role.
This position requires strong attention to detail so a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher is required, 3.5 GPA or higher is preferred.
Additional exposure to investment concepts through involvement in student organizations or work experiences is also preferred.
Must be available to work 40 hours per week from January - July 2022.
This internship can be located either at our corporate headquarters in Des Moines, IA.
