Kemin Industries Application Engineer Intern in Des Moines, Iowa

Overview

We are seeking an Application Engineer Intern to join out Kemin Application Solutions Department. This person will work on building application equiptment at the KAS facility. This will be based in our KAS facility in Des Moines, IA.

Responsibilities

  • Build systems in house with an application engineer.

  • Help with inventory of parts and materials located in the KAS shop.

  • Assist in shipping, repair, and replacement of parts to customers.

  • Building assembles (air assist nozzles, PLC boxes and standard system boxes).

  • Housekeeping – weekly cleaning of the shop area.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Chemical, Industrial, Electrical or Agricultural Engineering degree.

  • Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) experience is highly desired.

  • Working knowledge of electrical wiring practices, components and schematics is highly desired.

  • Working knowledge of liquid pumping, piping, flow and pressure calculations is highly desired.

  • Ability to work productively in a fast paced, high-pressure environment.

  • Strong organizational skills, including ability to be operations oriented, reliable and self-motivated.

  • Interacts well in team environment.

  • Ability to multi-task, and strong follow-up skills.

  • Excellent written/oral communication and coordination skills, with ability to understand equipment needs and potential issues.

  • Ability to interact in a professional manner with a wide variety of internal customers at all levels within the company (sales, customer service, product managers, finance, executives) and external customers.
