In this co-op you will have the opportunity to learn about system engineering on unmanned avionic systems. The role will include helping the rest of the systems engineering team with executing tests to ensure the systems behaves as expected by the customer as well as helping put together the interface information for the customer on how the system communicates. Our co-ops are treated as a new full time engineer and given meaningful work that you will be able to own and complete with the guidance of other full time engineers on the team as needed. Additional background and skills in the area of Avionics, Computer Systems, Computer Networks, Requirements decomposition and test execution will help. Looking for an enthusiastic, self-starter that is not afraid to dive in on something new. They must be willing to ask questions and stay well organized to help keep track of work assignments and instructions provided. Benefits students should expect to gain from this co-op include:
Seeing how to apply Agile Development (using the SAFe Framework)
Understanding system requirements and design and how sub-systems use the information to produce the desired output
Understanding how to execute a system test on an avionics program - will learn a little about how a pilot uses an avionics system and how to operate a cockpit type environment
Understand how to define Input/Output (IO) information to allow for the system being developed to integrate and interface with other systems on the plane.
Must be pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related field of study from an accredited institution
Must have GPA of 3.0
Must have completed 30 hours of college coursework
