Job Description
You will work closely with IC designers, BAW/SAW fitler designers, and layout engineers developing products for wireless mobile systems. Work activities will include: circuit simulation, lab testing of circuits, presentation of design expectations/results, and participation in design reviews.
You will work with a mentor and have the following job responsibilities:
Module level EM simulations using HFSS/ADS
Module level design and simulation for simulation vs measurement correlation
Tuning RF front end modules in lab (PA/LNA/PA/Filters/Switch)
Evaluating RF parameters like S-parameters, Pout, PAE, ACLR, NF, IP3, P1dB etc
Impedance tuning using Smith Chart
Validation & characterizing performance across supply, temperature & frequency
Creating compliance matrix against spec, plotting results and presenting results summary
Qualifications
Ability to start in June 2024 and work through December 2024. Must be currently enrolled in an Electrical Engineering MS (preferred) or Ph.D. program.

Good understanding in RF/microwave fundamentals such as impedance matching, passive RLC and resonant circuits, noise, linearity, circuit stability and Electromagnetic theory
Good circuit simulation skills utilizing Agilent ADS/, 2.5/3D EM tools such as Momentum/EMX, HFSS and Cadence and ability to translate between the model, simulation, physical implementation, and measured performance
Lab skills in data collection/analysis, lab debug/tuning and product troubleshooting
A self-starter and team player with a strong desire to learn on the job. Strong desire and commitment to take product from concept to volume production.
Good communication skills both verbal and written and logic reasoning skills, capable of breaking down complex problems, setting priorities, reporting progress and executing to schedule
The typical pay range for an Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $26.00 - $47.50 per hour and for a Non-Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $22.50 - $42.00 per hour. Starting pay will depend on level of education, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S.
