Alliant Energy is recruiting for interns within our Core Utility Operations, Process Performance, Thermal Performance, Generation Projects, Boiler and Construction Departments, among others.Internships may be located at either our field or our corporate offices. Some of the projects you could potentially be involved in as a Mechanical Engineering Intern are as follows:Driving the reliability and cost-effectiveness of one of our top generating stations by researching, designing, and implementing reliability upgrades for critical plant equipment, resulting in real, practical, applicable, and marketable skills for the successful candidate and significant physical and/or process improvements for the plant.Providing field testing set up and support, data recording, analysis, diagnostics and reporting.Assisting with process improvement projects via Lean Six Sigma methodology and/or assisting with beneficial use of coal combustion byproduct program.Varying engineering projects for a natural gas fired combined cycle generating plant or coal fired generating plants.Working with engineers and managers on projects involving regulatory agency codes and gas distribution equipment in the field.Provide engineering support to maintenance efforts at generating plants and wind energy.Applying to this requisition will put you into consideration for all Wisconsin and Iowa Mechanical Engineering Internships throughout Alliant Energy.
