Job Overview:

The Business Intelligence Intern will learn how to develop and deliver highly intuitive analytical solutions optimizing the use of dashboards and visualization for our financial product lines. They will learn Business Intelligence (BI) best practices and learn how to provide internal stakeholders with the tools and insights needed for the organization to meet its financial and strategic goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain an understanding of Business Intelligence technology, reporting tools, and other methods of information delivery

  • Build dashboards and create reports using SQL

  • Develop expertise with data visualization tools (Power BI and Tableau)

  • Gain exposure to conducting and facilitating internal testing and user acceptance testing

  • Contribute to project teams that are developing or modifying complex information solutions

  • May participate in user interviews and training sessions

  • Work in a fast-paced and deadline driven environment which rewards ownership, accountability, and collaboration

    Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, or a relate degree

  • Internships are not available for students who have completed their college education or will graduate prior to the conclusion of the internship (if not immediately continuing their studies)

  • Demonstrated ability to write SQL queries to retrieve/modify data

  • Fundamental knowledge of BI concepts & some experience with BI tools like Tableau and Power BI

  • Some experience developing data visualizations and using data discovery and the application of data to solve business problems

  • Willingness to tackle problems, learn quickly and independently, and proactively recommend solutions to improve efficiency or effectiveness

  • Natural intellectual curiosity and willingness to constructively challenge self and others to achieve better outcomes

  • Ability to handle multiple projects at once, seek opportunities to add value, and apply a customer centric service approach

  • Interest in learning about the financial services industry

    Compensation:

In addition to gaining exposure to the financial services and insurance industry, students gain access to intern exclusive events and networking opportunities throughout the summer while receiving a competitive compensation.

Please note that the compensation information that follows is a good faith estimate for this position only and is provided pursuant to the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act and Equal Pay Transparency Rules and other compensation posting laws. It is estimated based on what a successful candidate might be paid in certain Company locations.

The hourly wage for this position generally ranges between $22 - $24 per hour. This range is an estimate, based on potential qualifications and operational needs. The range may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Rule 4.1.2 and other applicable local regulations.
