We are recruiting for a temporary full-time intern at our Bonner Springs plant. The duration of the internship will be July through August 2018. The intern will be responsible for assisting our Operations team and collaborating with Operations, Safety, and Environmental staff to successfully complete the below job functions. Essential functions include: Learn and assist with daily production. Understand and assist with product quality as directed by the quality control department. Manage safety and environmental in regards to inspections, project management, corrective actions, and best management practices. Performs special projects or assignments as directed.Qualified candidates should possess the following: Working towards or recently completed studies in Environmental and Safety Management, Construction Science and Management, Architectural, Civil, Industrial, or Structural Architectural Engineering. Basic knowledge of civil engineering concepts. Demonstrated success of working in a collaborative environment and ability to work independently. Strong written and verbal communications skills and ability to present oneself and communicate in a professional, positive, and courteous manner at all times with customers and all levels of employees. Must be able to handle frequent interruptions and shifting of priorities. Adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events. Works as an effective and proactive team player. Highly motivated and self-starter with the ability to be effective at time management and self-management skills. Able to display high levels of customer service, responding promptly and thoroughly to the inquiries and needs of individuals both internal and external. Willingness to seek out resolution to meet the needs of customers. Able to quickly learn and apply what is learned effectively. Superior organization, prioritization and proactive problem solving skills. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook.
