About the Job:
The Human Resources Internship will provide students the opportunity to connect classroom education to hands on, in-depth human resource activities in the agricultural, transportation/logistics and manufacturing industries.
The summer will include creating new and updating current company policies, developing reports, analyzing and implementing performance review applications, performing audits, work in a Human Resource Information System (HRIS) and assisting with other HR initiatives. At the beginning of the summer, a capstone project will be assigned based on the student's interests. At the conclusion of the internship, the project will be presented to the HR and executive leadership teams. Developed skills during the summer will include presentation skills, networking/collaboration, problem solving and analytical thinking.
Responsibilities:
Support HR processes such as new hire onboarding, performance management, system configuration, timekeeping, etc.
Utilize HRIS system(s) to accomplish tasks including analytical and reporting data.
Assist with internal auditing of required HR documentation.
Utilize document imaging software to transition paper files to electronic files.
Provide additional support for company training, events, and employee communications.
Ensure data and document integrity.
Collaborate with HR team to effectively and efficiently complete tasks.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Only students that have completed their junior or senior year as of May 2024 will be considered for this internship.
Must be a student actively pursuing a bachelor's degree in areas of Business, Management, Agricultural Business, Human Resources, Communications, or related degree.
Strong written and communication skills.
Must have experience with MS Office applications including but not limited to Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Possess strong leadership characteristics and be actively involved in college activities.
Must be able to demonstrate effective and efficient administrative responsibilities, presentation abilities and high-level organizational skills.
Proven ability to research topics and interpret data.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Detail oriented and analytical.
Candidates must demonstrate the ability to present information, provide administrative services, multi-task, apply strategic thinking skills, work with all levels of management while possessing positive and professional skills.
