Meaningful projects that solve problems Job Location: One position located in Grundy County, IA and one position location in Cedar County, IA
To introduce the intern to the seed production operation, gaining experience by taking responsibility for selected field production operations in support of the production of a reliable supply of high quality seed. Position will take on several roles based upon field production practices, plant processing requirements and distribution needs. Perform a project to study a potential production improvement.

Foster an operational culture founded on adherence to all applicable HSE and other corporate policies, procedures and guidelines
Perform other duties as required to meet field operation or plant needs
Actively support an image that reflects the highest regard for cleanliness and organization Field Operations:
Support Agronomists and Field Production Technicians in field related activities as directed
Perform a project to study a potential production improvement. Present findings at Intern Poster Show in August.
Pooling and distribution of parent seed to grower base
Planting of seed production fields and parent seed returns
Assist with field mapping and isolation documentation requirements
Accurate and timely crop scouting and data collection of emergence and vegetative growth stages, silk and pollen shed notes, stand counts, and IPM scouting thresholds
Coordination of field labor needs to ensure rouging and DE tasseling operations are completed to quality standards
Coordination of male row destruction and equipment operation
Accurate and timely SAP and Data collection entry during the field productions season
Ensure all clean-downs and changeovers are done correctly to eliminate any product mixture
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelors or advanced degree in an applicable discipline. Ideal candidates will have crop production and/or Ag experience.
All applicants must be eligible to work in the US. Valid Driver’s License and acceptable moving violation record is required. This is either a 3 month or a 6 month internship. This is a field position and will require travel (valid driver’s license).
